Lets Start at the Begining

I would like to introduce myself. I am Will Langlois, Sous Chef at a restaurant called The StoneRose. If you've never heard of it, I suggest you come and experience it for yourself. I am amazed everyday how many good-looking people there are who come into my work. They really do all hide in one spot, and that would be the StoneRose. Before I started working in Conshohocken. I worked at Jose Garces' restaurant Distrito in University City while I got my degree at The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College for Culinary Arts.
During my first few months at Distrito, I got the opportunity to work with Jose Garces as he showed us all his dishes. Not only did that inspire me, it also introduced me to a whole new way of thinking about food and the way it looks on a plate. I always was the kid whose parents got so angry at, because I constantly played with my food. This was right up my alley. Now, bringing life to the plate is one of my main focuses.

I come from a family of foodies, but not the snobby kind. My dad is an amazing home cook who introduced me to cooking when I was younger. He is never afraid of trying new methods, recipes or exotic tastes. He is the person I go to when I want an honest opinion about a dish. As most dads are, he is a grill master and takes pride is his late summer BBQing and vegetable and herb gardening. My mom, on the other hand, is a excellent baker. The holidays are always a treat with her, literally.

This Blog is going to capture the life of food from farmer to plate, as well as my life of food and the dishes I create to make people happy.
